Change Begins With You

Wilfrid Laurier University’s Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work has been a force of innovation in social work education for more than 50 years. Our practice-based approach is on the leading edge of contemporary social work education, encouraging students to put their knowledge to use in the real world, where experiential learning happens. It’s this methodology that drives our online Master of Social Work (MSW) and Master of Social Work - Advanced Standing programs. Both the MSW and MSW - Advanced Standing programs can facilitate your personal growth and development as a highly competent and engaged social work practitioner. Both of these online programs are part-time, enabling students to complete their MSW degree without taking time out from a job or other commitments.

"I am really enjoying this class, it is easy to follow, clear and I am learning a lot. You have been extremely helpful whenever asked and I am extremely thankful. With it being a new program I expected there to be a lot of glitches but I have barely noticed any. I teach online as well and I know it can be challenging at times. I appreciate all the work you are doing and feedback we are receiving! What a great start to our MSW!"

- Stephanie Hache, Laurier MSW student

"I am very happy with my decision to attend Laurier's MSW program because it takes an integrated, critical approach to a field that is infused with both historical problems and future possibilities. I know that the critical, reflexive skills I am learning in class will greatly benefit me in my future practice. I feel prepared to work in the field and perhaps later pursue a PhD. Overall, the combination of Laurier's stellar reputation in the social work field and the skills and knowledge I have learned will definitely prove to be helpful in my social work career."
