Toronto Police Services announced the new design for the Toronto Police Service frontline vehicle.

The previous design was a white, red and blue automobile that debuted in 2006.

The Toronto Police Service asked the public as well as police service members to weigh in on the design of the new vehicle and more than 18,000 individuals responded. A total of 80% of respondents favored the new design elements.

The new design features white doors, reflective lettering and emergency lights, and focuses on the word “POLICE.”

More than 500 cars will receive the new design, a rollout is expected by November 2017.  According to CP24, Toronto Police Services Chief Mark Saunders explains his hopes for the change, noting, "I hope it communicates professionalism. It’s got great style to it and I hope it is visible enough that the public will not have any concerns with identifying a marked police car if one of them is driving down the streets.”
