Peter Shadgett – BA (Psychology); MA (Criminology); and Master’s Certificate (Public Management) - worked over thirty years as a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).  He spent 5 years working uniform patrol and then spent the rest of his career working in major crime, including homicide, intelligence, anti-terrorism and organized crime investigations.  In the last 15 years of his career, Peter served in several roles at the executive level, where he provided senior leadership and expertise in the provision of major and organized crime investigation and enforcement consistent with intelligence-led and evidence-based decision-making to the OPP and various partners and stakeholders, including:

 

  • Director, OPP Anti-Rackets Branch;
  • Director of Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario;
  • Bureau Commander of the Ontario Provincial Police Professional Standards Bureau
  • Bureau Commander of the Ontario Provincial Police Investigation and Support Bureau;
  • Bureau Commander of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau;

In December 2012 he was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to policing.

He has served as an adjunct faculty member and lecturer with various learning institutions since 2008.
