
After an 18 year career, Nord has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Royal Canadian Navy, Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, and the Department of National Defence including his role as Aide-de-Camp for the Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia and National Military Co-Chair for the Defence Visible Minority Advisory Group. He has in-depth knowledge of international and national security issues. Currently he is a professor in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business at Fanshawe College in the Bachelor of Commerce (Management) Degree program, as well as the Program Coordinator for the International Business Management Graduate Certificate. Nord holds a diploma from Grande Prairie Regional College, a Bachelor degree from the University of Alberta, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Defence Studies (MDS) from the Royal Military College of Canada and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Phoenix.
